Summary of Projects and Achievements

Since 2017, Ningxia Shenma Industry & Trade has become the implementation agency of Ningxia Agricultural Technology Transfer Center (Kyrgyzstan branch center), a communication channel between China and Kyrgyzstan on agricultural cooperation. Direct trade and technical transfer between China and Kyrgyzstan have been enhanced on vegetables out of season, after the company operated technical demonstration and training on facility agriculture. Main cooperation projects are summarized as follows:

Technical demonstration

Based on the greenhouse farm, the company started technical demonstration on facility agriculture and out-of-season vegetable production. Production technologies of tomatoes, peppers, celeries, etc. have been introduced

Training

The company actively organizes trainings to facilitate technical uptake. By the end of 2019, it organized 3 workshops and benefited over 80 farmers.

Platform building

The company actively hosts exchange activities among countries involved in the “belt and road initiative”. Entrepreneurs and governmental officials were invited to China-Arab States Expo and other exhibitions. More than 60 participants were involved.

Agricultural demonstration in Kyrgysztan

Time: April 2017

Location: Chuhe Prefecture

Activities:

Greenhouse vegetable plantation demonstration

10,000 square meters of vegetable greenhouses were built in Kyrgyzstan. With the assistance from technical expertise provided by the Department of Agriculture in Ningxia, technologies of greenhouse construction, seedling, irrigation and plant protection have been demonstrated, which covers a variety of out-of-season vegetables, such as tomato, cucumber, radish etc.

Technical on-site trainings

The greenhouse continuously hosts group visits for exchange and trainings. In 2019, 17 delegates visited the greenhouse, including mayor of the Kant city in Chuhe Prefecture, other governmental officials, entrepreneurs and local farmers.

Results: the yield and trade of out-of-season vegetables in the farm have been improved, which has played a significant demonstrative role.

Agricultural technology study tours during the China-Arab States Expo

Activities:

These study tours took place every year during the China-Arab States Expo. Participants include entrepreneurs, government officials and technical personnel. Main activities include:
