Summary of Projects and Achievements

Xiaofeiying has been involved in agriculture cooperation with west African countries, and its main SSC activities include:

1. Technical demonstration

Demonstration of tested varieties of crops, such as soybean and rice, in the 1000 ha farm in Guinea;

Collaborated with technical expert from Chinese and local research institutes for R&D

Introduction of machinery and other agricultural technologies, such as plant protection and organic production

2. Capacity building

Trainings of university students from West African countries in Wuhan. More than 160 students benefited;

Plan to train more than 10 technicians and 100 households for soybean plantation development in West Africa

Major SSTC Projects

Guinea Soybean Plantation Project

Time: 2018-now

Place: Mandiana Prefecture in Guinea, adjacent to Mali and Cote d’Ivoire

Activities:

-Clear land and cultivate soybeans and other crop varieties such as sesame, potatoes and rice, while introducing agri-machinery to the farm

-Collaborate with technical team from South China University of Agriculture to screen soybean varieties and the Huazhong University of Agriculture for plant protection

-Train local people and farmers of soybeans plantation techniques

Results:

1. 100 ha rice plantation has been harvested successfully and 6 soybean varieties have been introduced with the help of technical team

2. Regularly hire 30 local staff and more than 100 part-time labor, which contribute to local employment and income

3. Plan to train 10 professional soybean plantation employees, 100 farmers

Highlights:

Local agriculture department in Guinea has sent thank-you letter to XiaoFeiYing for the contributions made.

West Africa agri-industry project

This project is initiated by Xiaofeiying, and it’s supported by China-Africa Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This project aims to boost the development of agri-industry in Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and other west African countries.

Activities:

Establishing plantation bases in Guinea, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, and Liberia

There are 6 plantation bases accounting for 6000 hectares. Soybean, maize, rice are introduced in the bases and more than 1500 local workers are employed during cultivation

Building Huaxia agri-industry park with agri-product processing plants

Processing of agri-products like cassava, cashew nut, and meat has been done by Sangmu (China) international agriculture group registered in Cote d’Ivoire. The agri-industry park can provide job opportunity for nearly 3000 locals and benefit more than 20000 locals in relevant industries.

Establishing west Africa agricultural technology center

Cooperating with research institutions such as Huazhong University of Agriculture, Institute of Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Guinea, South China University of Agriculture etc., the project aims to build an agricultural technology center which involves demonstration of soybean plantation techniques and related trainings.
